Celebrating Shakespeare 400 Celebrating 150 years of Alice in Wonderland Author Visits World Book Day Storytelling Extended Project Qualification
World Book Day Fancy Dress This year, on World Book Day, staff dressed up as characters from their favourite books and started lessons by reading extracts to their classes.
At lunchtime, there were extra storytelling sessions, again led by our own 'book characters'. These ranged from The Cat in the Hat,
, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, to A Christmas Carol - performed by 'Jacob Marley'

As usual there were a host of competitions including:

  • a Shelfie competition, requiring students to identify which bookshelf belonged to each memebr of staff;
  • a Book Bake-Off which highlighted some exceptional baking skills among our younger students. The winning entry was from Chloe Baldin, Yr9 whose cake represented Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
  • A bookmark design competition from which the top three entries will be made up and given to new students in September.
